Legal Services for Older Adults (60+) in Johnson County at the Sunset Drive Office Building

Older adults age 60 and older who are residents of Johnson County receive:

  • Legal consultation regarding estate planning and advance directives
  • Education and assistance with powers-of-attorney, living wills and consumer advocacy
  • Advice regarding access to public benefits such as housing, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Services are provided by Kansas Legal Services (KLS) on a donation basis.

To schedule an appointment, contact the Sunset Drive Office Building. Be sure to provide the name of the older adult age 60+ for whom the service is requested. Clients are not billed for services, but contributions are gratefully accepted.  Appointment are available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates:

  • May 9, 2024
  • July 11, 2024
  • September 12, 2024

These appointments can be scheduled at three locations throughout Johnson County: the Roeland Park Community Center, the Matt Ross Community Center, and the Sunset Drive Office Building.  For more information on additional dates and locations, click here.  The Elder Law Hotline also makes volunteer attorneys available at 1-888-353-5337 a toll free number.
